I have to say, I am very very impressed with quickoffice - I purchased the adobe reader le version 2 days ago and I have it, and they gave me a free license for their newest office software because my old version of the software is not supported by symbian v5! (40euro software for free!!!!!!!!!!) And no bitching and moaning from them! Unlike most of the other software companies I've had to converse with

Well what's the cost per month if you factor in pay in?

If I finance the pay in rather than taking it outright, then it's R90 p/m for the BB and R30 p/m for the Nokia. But then add another R60 p/m on the BB for BIS (which is mandatory on Vodacom contracts with BB phones). So the BB is definitely more expensive, but I'm not sure I'm going to base my decision here solely on cost-effectiveness. Either way, I'll probably do a once-off pay in and then go from there.

Monty, is push email push mail, or are there different types of push mail? You said at PCF that the Nokia can also do push. I read on some other remote forum that the Nokia must be connected to 3G all the time to do push, but that the BB doesn't have to be connected all the time. Any clue as to how this works?

Is push email really all it's made out to be, or am I probably going to end up just fetching my mail manually whenever I want it?

If you ask me it's no different from setting the phone to check every 5 min. Really is there a valid point to this?

It's also the same as IMAP and I hate IMAP.

As far as I can tell, it is exactly that. The device checks, and if there is an email, it gets downloaded

Thanks for the tip, but we actually don't have an enterprise server running at work.

Just an update for those who want to know -

I have a 100mb data bundle with MTN, and I have yet to get through it completely in a month, with decent cellphone internet usage. When I tether my phone to my laptop, I can use a fair amount, but it's still hard to go through 100mb when you do conservative browsing (ie, no youtube and other bandwidth hogs).

So... if your phone has wifi and you have wifi at home and/or work, the chances are you will be hard pushed in to finishing a 100mb data bundle every month.

I've also noticed this on my hero. Android browser is surprisingly conservative. Opera Mini is even better :D And I still watch the odd youtube vid when i need to get a song out my mind
