LANs

These are the LANs that I'm involved with.

FRAG LAN

I'm one of the co-founders of this event. It all started at a small garage LAN at my place, a few of us trying to figure out how to contribute to a dying Durban gaming scene. We got a venue, some equipment and some very enthusiastic gamers, and held our first event just over a month later in June 2007. We're trying to grow the event, so feel free to spread the word. FRAG, by the way, stands for "Frikken Retarded At Gaming", which aptly describes our (lack of) gaming skills.

More information can be found at the FRAG website.

Note that due to the fact that I'm studying a part time course at the moment, I won't actually be attending events between September 2007 and September 2008, but I'm still involved in keeping the event going (despite the fact that I'm not physically there).

Kontrol Alt Elite

Kontrol Alt Elite is the CTI Durban LAN, which is organised by two past students. Entrance is generally limited to those affiliated with CTI due to severe space constraints, although outsiders are generally granted access. It's great fun and a good way to get into LAN gaming if you're not into it already. There's also a network upgrade (to Gigabit) that's pending.

Kontrol Alt Elite does not have its own website. You can, however, probably find out information about it on KaBaDaBrA's website (he's one of the co-organisers).

Unfortunately, with a new principal arriving at CTI at the beginning of 2007, this event seems to have died.
